Latest Information on Testing and Vaccination

Covid Testing and Vaccine Update January 19, 2021

South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management is coordinating with Middlesex County Health Department and State officials about the evolving vaccine distribution. New vaccination locations are anticipated to open nearby in the coming days and weeks. Last week the State’s mega-site opened in Edison. We have included several links to different vaccination locations

We have put together our best guidance for how to register for the vaccine and different locations offering the vaccine. We will provide updates on any new locations as we get them.

TESTING:
A new COVID testing location has opened in the Township. Ridgewood Labs is offering COVID -19 testing on Route 27. The testing is done while in you are in your vehicle. You can make an appointment on-line.  All testing is done outdoors in your vehicle. You must have a mask on. There is no charge if you are uninsured. Go to https://test.sbnj.online/reg/sbnj.aspx for more information.
(This is not a Township affiliated testing center)

WHO IS ABLE TO GET THE VACCINE?
Currently Phase 1A – Healthcare workers, first responders (police & fire)
Individuals at High Risk - Individuals aged 65 and older, and individuals ages 16-64 with medical conditions that increase the risk of severe illness from the virus. These conditions include Cancer, Chronic kidney disease, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), Down Syndrome, Heart conditions, Obesity, Severe Obesity, Sickle cell disease, Smoking, Type 2 diabetes mellitus.

HOW TO REGISTER?
There are several efforts underway by the State, County, and local providers to vaccinate people. Each process has its own registration and appointment availability. You should first register on the State website and you will receive a notification when one of the Mega-sites comes open and available. After you register on the State website, you should check the individual sites to see if there are any available appointments. The State website does not automatically forward your information to the County or local providers.
The state of New Jersey has set up a new vaccine dashboard to COVID19.nj.gov. The dashboard, updated daily, will display data about the total number of doses of vaccine administered (first and second doses), and demographic vaccine information: county, gender, race, and ethnicity.

The State plans to create a vaccine call center to assist individuals to pre-register for vaccine and make vaccine appointments, including those with no computers, later this week.
