A Message from the Office of Emergency Management/Fair Haven Police Department - Jan 22, 2021

January 22, 2021

Dear Fair Haven Residents,

I just wanted to give you an update regarding COVID-19. As of today, we have 71 active cases in Fair Haven. As you are aware throughout the country there has been a rise in the cases of the virus and unfortunately Fair Haven is not immune to that.  With that in mind, we must remember to follow the strict guidelines from the CDC such as:

  • Wash your hands.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a mask.
  • Maintain at least six feet distance between you and other people.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
  • Stay home if you feel sick.
  • Avoid unnecessary travel and staying away from large groups of people.

We were all hoping by this time we would have seen a decline in the spread of the virus but unfortunately that is not the case.  If we all work together hopefully this challenging time will come to an end soon.

There are a number of people that are now eligible for the vaccine, such as healthcare workers, first responders, people that are 65 and older and people with certain medical conditions.  There is more information on the New Jersey official site www.covid19.nj.gov.

I know that signing up for the vaccine can be challenging online.  If the appointment times are booked, continue to check the websites for the opening of more appointments.

Below are some websites that you can register to receive the vaccine.

Be well and stay healthy.

Sincerely,
Chief Joseph P. McGovern
