Contra Costa County Returns to Purple Tier
As of 8:00 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021, the California Department of Public Health has lifted the statewide Stay at Home order and returned counties to the color-coded Tier system under the Blueprint for a Safer Economy.
According to the statement from the Department of Public Health https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/OPA/Pages/NR21-030.aspx the decision was made based on a four-week projection of ICU bed capacity.
With the lifting of the ban, Contra Costa Health Services announced that they would be returning to the purple tier effective immediately. Despite this change, County Health officials are reminding residents to remain vigilant and take every precaution. Continue social distancing, wearing masks, and washing hands, as a safeguard to help keep the number of new cases going down.
Vaccine Appointment Hotline Opens
Continuing to work on streamlining the system for getting the COVID-19 vaccine County Health Services this week announced the opening of a new vaccine appointment phone line. The number for the line is 1-833-VAX-COCO (1-833-829-2926. The phone line is intended to assist those who are unable to schedule vaccine appointments online. The phone line is available Mon-Fri 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Those eligible for the vaccine are encouraged to continue using the online form and only use the phone line if they do not have access to the internet or are having difficulty with the form.

- Restaurants may offer outdoor dining, following state health guidelines
- Hair salons, barbershops, and personal services such as nail salons may reopen following state health guidelines.
- Outdoor social gatherings involving 25 or fewer people, from three or fewer different households, are now permitted.
