The Fairfield Fire Department wants remind you of the potential power of the upcoming set of winter storms. Although the city is not currently under the flash flood watch the areas directly outside of the city that were affected by the LNU complex fires are. There is a significant potential for flash flooding and mud/debris flow in these areas. There is also the potential for extreme winds from midnight Tuesday through noon on Wednesday with winds from 35-45 mph and gusts up to 60 mph. Winds of this speed can cause tree beaches and power lines to fall. Please stay away from any downed power lines and call 911 if you encounter them. Your Fairfield Firefighters are prepared and will be ready to respond to any emergencies that may arise with this round of winter weather.
