FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
A TRAVEL ADVISORY (LEVEL I) HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR WAYNE COUNTY ROADWAYS AND THE STREETS OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND AND THE TOWN OF CENTERVILLE DUE TO SNOW ACCUMULATION CAUSING HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS.
This TRAVEL ADVISORY takes effect at 10:00 PM on Saturday, January 30, 2021. This Advisory applies to all roads maintained by Wayne County Highway Department and the Street Departments of City of Richmond and the Town of Centerville. This Advisory will remain in effect until Monday, February 1, 2021 at 12:00pm.
This TRAVEL ADVISORY has been issued to warn those who must travel on Wayne County roadways and City Streets to use extreme caution due to continued snow fall and accumulating snow causing widespread icing and hazardous travel.
If you must drive during this advisory, remain alert and use caution as you may encounter slick patches on roads and rapidly changing road conditions, especially where snow is blowing across a road. Allow extra time to get to your destination, reduce your speed and increase the following distance from the vehicle ahead. Avoid sudden changes in speed and apply brakes and accelerator slowly and gently.
A LEVEL I TRAVEL ADVISORY DOES NOT IMPOSE ANY RESTRICTIONS ON TRAVEL ON COUNTY ROADWAYS. MOTORISTS MAY TRAVEL AT THEIR OWN RISK.
