While investigating a suspected DUI driver, deputies found an unserialized, loaded firearm concealed in the vehicle

INCIDENT: Narcotics Sales, Illegal Possession of a loaded firearm
LOCATION: Yucaipa Blvd./ 4th St., Yucaipa
SUSPECT: David Vincent Garcia, 26-years-old, resident of Yucaipa
VICTIM: State of California
SUMMARY:
On Monday February 1, 2021, at approximately 9:46 p.m., dispatch received a call from a citizen regarding a suspected drunk driver traveling on Oak Glen Road, nearly colliding into vehicles. The vehicle turned onto Yucaipa Blvd. and pulled into the Jack in the Box parking lot. The driver, David Garcia, was contacted by Deputy Rodriguez. During the DUI investigation, deputies located a loaded, un-serialized firearm and loaded extended magazine concealed within reach of the driver seat. Also located inside the vehicle was suspected methamphetamine, scales and packaging indicative of narcotics sales.
Garcia was arrested and transported to Central Detention Center where he was booked for HS11351-Narcotics sales, HS11370.1-Possession of a Controlled Substance while armed, and PC25850(a)-Carrying a loaded firearm. He is being held on $50,000 bail.
