Crime Blotter for the Week of January 24-30, 2021

The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of January 24, 2021– January 30, 2021.        
 
January 24, 2021

  • Grand Theft (Unlocked Vehicle):
A victim reported a theft from his unlocked vehicle near the 1600 Block of Cotter Avenue. On 01-24-01 at 2:25 am, the victim saw an unknown male adult inside his unlocked vehicle. The victim yelled at the suspect, who ran from the victim’s vehicle stealing two hedge trimmers. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video. The estimated loss was $1,200.
 
January 25, 2021
  • Petty Theft (Purse):
A victim reported the theft of her unsecured purse near the 1400 Block of Buena Vista Street. On 01-25-21, between 10:45 am and 11:45 am, a person unknown stole her purse placed on a table while working.Deputies did not locate any surveillance video. The estimated loss was $915.
  • Assault with Deadly Weapon(Vehicle):
A victim reported he was walking southbound Las Lomas Road near the 100 Block when he got into a verbal argument with an unknown male adult driving a white SUV. After the confrontation, the victim walked across the street when the unidentified male attempted to hit him with the SUV. The victim wasn’t injured, nor could he provide further information about the suspect or vehicle. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video.
 
January 26, 2021
  • Grand Theft Auto:
A victim reported their vehicle stolen near the 1200 Block of Huntington Drive.On 01-26-21 at 7:20 pm, the victim gave an acquaintance a ride to pick up food at a local restaurant. While the victim was inside the restaurant to grab the food, his passenger stole his vehicle. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video. The victim’s BMW 750 is still outstanding.
 
January 27, 2021
  • Petty Theft (Catalytic Converter):
A victim reported their vehicle catalytic converter was stolen near the 2700 Block of Huntington Drive. The theft occurred on 01-27-21 between 2:00 pm and 5:15 pm. Suspects stole the catalytic converter from the victim’s 2001 Ford Expedition. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video. The estimated loss was $700.
  • Grand Theft (Catalytic Converter):
A victim reported their vehicle catalytic converter was stolen near the 1300 Block of Three Ranch Road. The theft occurred between 01-25-21, 12:00 am, and 01-27-21, 4:25 pm. Suspects stole the catalytic converter from the victim’s 1999 Ford F150. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video. The estimated loss was $1,000.

  • Grand Theft Auto:
A victim reported their vehicle stolen near the 1800 Block of Huntington Drive. The victim’s Chevy Silverado was stolen between 01-29-21, 3:30 pm, and 01-30-21, 5:00 am. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video. The vehicle is still outstanding.
  • Grand Theft Auto:
A victim reported their vehicle stolen near the 800 Block of Lewiston Street. The victim’s Honda Civic was stolen between 01-29-21, 8:00 pm, and 01-30-21, 8:00 am. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video. The vehicle is still outstanding.
 
CRIME PREVENTION TIP
 
For Kids:
  • Help your child learn their full name, phone number (including area code), and address (city and state).
  • Teach children how to call 911 and when it’s appropriate.
  • Teach your kids how to identify “safe” adults, like a police officer or security guard, or teacher.
  • Explain to your kids that they should never accept a ride, food, or gifts from someone they don’t know.
