SUMMARY:
On Sunday, January 31, 2021, at approximately 5:39 a.m., deputies from Hesperia Police Department and rescue personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department were dispatched to a single vehicle traffic collision near US Highway 395 and Yucca Terrace Drive. Deputies and Fire personnel arrived on scene and found a single vehicle, a 2016 Ford Mustang, involved in the traffic collision. The driver of the Mustang, identified as Jameshia Avery, was ejected and suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision. Avery was pronounced deceased at the scene by rescue personnel.
Based on physical evidence at the scene, investigators believe Avery was traveling southbound on US Highway 395 near the intersection with Yucca Terrace Drive.
