Los Angeles County Sheriff's Arson and Explosives Detail (AED) investigators are assisting the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station with an explosion investigation on the 25000 block of Rye Canyon Circle, Santa Clarita. The call was received Tuesday, February 2, 2020, at approximately 4:40 p.m.
Detectives have learned the blast was caused by the processing of commercial pyrotechnics, which were owned by a private company.
There are four reported injured, all of whom suffered extensive injuries and were subsequently transported to a trauma center. Two of the victims were later transferred to a burn ward.
