SIDEWALKS ARE ONE OF THE MANY WONDERFUL THINGS ABOUT FAIR HAVEN!!

SIDEWALKS ALLOW RESIDENTS TO WALK SAFELY THROUGH THE BOROUGH WHILE  WALKING THEIR CHILDREN TO SCHOOL, SHOPPING IN LOCAL STORES, WALKING THEIR PETS OR SIMPLY GETTING SOME EXERCISE. 

FOLLOWING A SNOW STORM, IT IS EXTREMELY HELPFUL TO CLEAR THE SIDEWALK IN FRONT OF YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE TO ALLOW SAFE FOOT TRAFFIC.

BELOW IS THE BOROUGH ORDINANCE ON SIDEWALK SNOW REMOVAL:

Borough Code 14-6.1
—Snow and Ice Removal Required; Time Limit.

The owner, tenant or occupant of any building or lands abutting upon any street within the Borough of Fair Haven shall cause the sidewalk in front of the property to be cleared of snow or ice to a width of at least two (2) feet within twenty-four (24) hours after the cessation of the snowfall or formation of ice. In case of ice on the sidewalk, should it be impracticable to remove same, then the sidewalk shall be covered with sand or some other suitable substance so as to cause the sidewalk to be made safe and convenient for persons traveling thereon.
 
Remember not to leave your vehicles in the street if there is a chance that it may snow.  Also, if you have a corner property, it is your responsibility to shovel the sidewalk in front of your residence and on the side.
