WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT 6 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON EST SUNDAY
WHAT: Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches with locally higher amounts, especially at the higher elevations.
WHERE: The mountains of western North Carolina.
WHEN: From 6 PM this evening to noon EST Sunday.
IMPACTS: Travel could be very difficult.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS:
A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel, keep a flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
