On Monday, February 8, 2021, at approximately 1:05 AM, the Sausalito Police Department received an alert from our License Plate Recognition Cameras of a stolen vehicle entering Sausalito from Spencer Avenue. The vehicle was a white Chevrolet van which had been reported stolen out of San Francisco on February 5, 2021.

Sausalito Police Officers immediately responded to the area to search for the vehicle. Corporal Brian Mather located the van parked in the 100 block of Spencer Avenue. Two male adults were detailed.
Nicholas Tiller (31 years old out of San Francisco) was located in the driver’s seat of the van and Jeremie Barbe (32 years old out of San Francisco) was found standing outside the vehicle. Both subjects were ultimately arrested and booked into the Marin County Jail.

A search of the vehicle revealed a large amount of suspected stolen property which include bicycles, electric scooters and luggage. This property was collected and attempts will be made to locate the
owners.

Tiller was booked for the possession of the stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools and miscellaneous drug related charges. Barbe was booked for possession of the stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools, miscellaneous drug charges and for providing false identification to the officers. Barbe was also booked on two outstanding arrest warrants out of San Francisco. The first is a No Bail warrant for burglary and possession of stolen property. The second warrant was $5000 for possession of a stolen vehicle.

Since the City of Sausalito’s License Plate Recognition Camera program became operational on Thursday, May 18, 2017, forty-nine (49) stolen vehicles have been recovered leading to the arrest of fifty-seven (57) individuals for various crimes.
