Project Community and the Pelham Police Department is proud to announce You & Me, a Project CHILDD (Community Help in Learning about Developmental Disabilities) collaboration with the police.  

Families of special needs residents can introduce their family member and voluntarily register them with the Pelham Police Department. This in-person meeting with the police will create a positive experience to promote trust and safety. The registration process will include data collection of unique behavioral characteristics, important emergency contact information and photographs to aid in identification during an emergency. Pelham Police Officers will have immediate access to this data base while they are in the field, allowing them to help mitigate potentially dangerous encounters that can occur with lack of familiarity with our special needs residents.
