SUMMARY:
On February 8, 2021, Highland Sheriff's deputies responded to the 6600 block of Valaria Drive in the City of Highland for a report of a domestic disturbance. Through the course of their investigation, deputies found Carlos Morales left the victim on the side of the freeway after an argument, then returned after approximately ten minutes and drug the victim inside his vehicle against her will. Morales was arrested for domestic violence violations and booked at Central Detention Center.
During the course of their investigation, deputies observed materials consistent with the manufacturing of unregistered, home built, assault style rifles. Highland deputies obtained a search warrant for Morales' residence and found over 2,000 rounds of ammunition, four handguns with no serial numbers, three home built assault style rifles, a short barreled illegal rifle and materials used to create and assemble assault rifles.
