An unidentified black male brandished a handgun at a victim in a grocery store parking lot and stole her purse

SUSPECT(S): Unidentified Black Male Adult
VICTIM(S): Confidential Adult Female
SUMMARY: On January 22, 2021, at 4:07 pm., deputies from the Yucaipa Station responded to the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred in the parking lot in the 33600 block of Yucaipa Blvd. Upon arrival, deputies were advised by the victim that she was loading her groceries into the back of her SUV when the suspect retrieved a black semi-auto handgun from his waist and ordered her to put her purse down on the ground. The suspect then instructed her to enter her vehicle through the driver-side door. As she started to walk to the vehicle's driver-side, the suspect grabbed her purse and ran toward a parked vehicle. The suspect got into the vehicle and fled on Yucaipa Blvd.
The suspect was described as a Black male, approximately 40 years of age, wearing a black hat, black shirt, a black puffy jacket, and black shorts. The vehicle was described as a maroon-colored, late model sedan.
