Crime Blotter for the Week of January 31 - February 6, 2021

The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of January 31, 2021– February 06, 2021.        
 
January 31, 2021

  • Petty Theft (Unlocked Vehicle):
A victim reported a theft near the 700 Block of Encanto Parkway. Between 10:00 am and 11:30 am, a person unknown stole the victim’s wallet from his unlocked vehicle. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video. The estimated loss $700.
  • Petty Theft (Bike):
A victim reported his bike stolen near the 1400 Block of Mountain Avenue. On 01-31-21, between 2:40 pm and 3:09 pm, a person unknown cut the chain securing his “Mongoose” mountain bike to a fixed post and stole it. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video. The estimated loss was $200.
 
February 01, 2021
  • Petty Theft (Postal Lock):
A victim reported the theft of a postal lock near the 1700 Block of Huntington Drive. Between 01-26-21, 10:00 am, and 01-27-20, 10:00 am, a person unknown stole the apartment complex postal lock. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video. The estimated loss $30.
  • Grand Theft Auto:
A victim reported their vehicle stolen near the 2200 Block of Huntington Drive. The victim’s Ford Escape was stolen on 02-01-21 between 12:30 am and 2:27 pm from the location. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video. Pomona Police Department recovered the vehicle on 02-04-21. No one in custody.
 
February 02, 2021
  • Burglary (Business):
A victim reported a theft at 1825 Huntington Drive (Accu Assembly). At approximately 3:35 am, the alarm company notified the victim of a smashed window at his business. Deputies arrived at the location and observed the business front windows had been shattered, and the interior was ransacked. Surveillance video captured a male adult enter the company through the smashed window and rummage through the property. The estimated loss was $3000.
  • Burglary (Business):
When Deputies responded to the theft at 1825 Huntington Drive, they searched the surrounding area and noticed the front windows to 1845 Huntington Drive (California Skewers) had been shattered. It appeared to Deputies that someone made into the business. Deputies were unable to contact the business owner or a representative. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video. At the time of the report, the estimated loss was unknown.
  • Burglary (Business):
A victim reported a theft at 1418 Huntington Drive (J&A Cafe). The victim stated on 02-02-21 at approximately 4:10 am, she was notified by her alarm company that an interior motion sensor was triggered inside the business. Deputies arrived at the location and observed the business front windows had been shattered, and several chairs had been overturned. The victim said the suspect stole the cash register. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video. The estimated loss was $1130.
  • Burglary (Business):
When Deputies responded to the theft at 1418 Huntington Drive, they searched the surrounding area and noticed the front window to 1416 Huntington Drive (Lovely’s Beauty and Barber) had been shattered. Deputies were able to contact the owner of the property. Surveillance video captured a male adult enter the business and quickly leave. At the time of the report, the estimated loss was unknown.
  • Grand Theft (Catalytic Converter):
A victim reported their vehicle catalytic converter was stolen near the 900 Block of Livermont Lane. The theft occurred on 02-02-21 at approximately 6:15 am. Suspects stole the catalytic converter from the victim’s 2005 Toyota Prius. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video. The estimated loss was $1,600.
  • Grand Theft Auto:
A victim reported their vehicle stolen near the 1800 Block of Highland Avenue. The victim’s GMC Canyon was stolen between 02-01-21, 7:14 pm, and 02-02-20, 6:30 am. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video. Orange Police Department recovered the vehicle on 02-03-21. No one in custody.
 
February 03, 2021
  • No significant activity. 
February 04, 2021
  • Person Dead:
Deputies responded to Arcadia Methodist Hospital regarding a person transported to the hospital by a private vehicle and was pronounced dead from a stab wound. The Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau is investigating the incident.
 
February 05, 2021
  • Grand Theft (Shoplifting):
An informant reported a theft at 1050 Huntington Drive (Target). The store’s lost prevention officer reviewed surveillance video and noticed a male adult entering the store earlier, selected miscellaneous items from within the store, and placed them in a shopping cart. The suspect exited the store, making no attempt to pay for the items. Surveillance video captured the incident. The estimated loss was $1,119.97.
  • Grand Theft Auto:
A victim reported their vehicle stolen near the 1800 Block of Buena Vista Street. The victim’s Ford F250 was stolen between 02-04-21, 8:00 pm, and 02-05-21, 11:00 am. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video. The vehicle is still outstanding.
