01/07/2021 *Larceny
Coyle Rd & Six Mile – A victim reported that sometime between 01/06 & 01/07 cords of firewood had been removed from his property. The Officer investigating the incident was able to develop a suspect; the suspect was known to the victim. A resolution was agreed upon and no criminal prosecution was pursued.
01/07/2021 *Malicious Destruction of Property
700 Block of 7 Mile Rd –A complainant reported that he discovered both his posted political sign and fence spray painted. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
01/07/2021 *Telephone Threats Complaint
3000 Block of Joy Rd – A complainant reported receiving text message threats from a known subject. An Officer receiving the report completed an investigation and forwarded it to the prosecutor’s office for review of charges.
01/08/2021 *Threats – Posted
Glenmoore St – A political threat was posted on a vehicle that was concerning. The Northfield Twp Police along with the Secret Service investigated and deemed it was not a credible threat.
01/08/2021 *Missing/Runaway –Endangered Juvenile
6100 Block of Nolar – Officers received a call regarding an unknown juvenile seeking assistance; the caller further advised the juvenile was not dressed for the weather. The investigation revealed a potential missing subject, a search was conducted with assistance from Ann Arbor Police, Michigan State Police, Northfield Fire and Salem Fire Departments. The subject was found 01/09 and transported to U of M.
01/12/2021 *Arrest – Driving on a Suspended License
Main & Pine – An Officer on patrol made a traffic stop for speed and further observed the vehicle had no license plate. The driver could not produce a driver’s license or paper work for the vehicle. The Officer discovered the driver had multiple suspensions against her driver’s license. The driver was arrested, processed and released pending the prosecutor’s review of charges. The vehicle was impounded.
01/13/2020 * Landlord / Tenant Dispute
North Territorial Rd - An Officer responded to a harassment complaint which revealed the incident was a civil issue. The Officer mediated the situation bringing forward a workable resolution. The case did not proceed with criminal filings.
01/15/2021 *Arrest – Fugitive Warrants / Driving on a Suspended License
E North Territorial & Sutton – Officers responded to a single vehicle crash and determined the driver had several outstanding warrants and was driving on a suspended license. The vehicle was impounded, the driver arrested and turned over to the jurisdiction holding the warrants. Charges have been forwarded to the prosecutor for review of Driving on a Suspended License.
01/16/2021 *Hit & Run – Assist other Agency
U .S. 23 (n/b) & N. Territorial – Officers responded to a hit & run. During the investigation Officers were able to determine the make & model of the striking vehicle. The investigation led to the discovery of an abandoned vehicle with fresh damage that fit the description of the one involved in the crash. Further, the investigation revealed the suspect had been involved in a recent Canton Twp Fleeing and Eluding case, The vehicle was impounded, information shared with Canton Police and the case forwarded to the prosecutor for review.
01/18/2021 * Plate Confiscation – No Insurance
Main St & Anna – During a traffic stop it was determined that the vehicle was on the public roadway without insurance. The license plate was confiscated and the driver issued a citation.
01/21/2021 *Fraud – Obtaining Money Under False Pretenses
Pearl St – A victim reported that in an attempt to purchase a puppy from an out of state seller, the victim sent payments through a designated app. After all payments were made, a location was agreed upon to receive the puppy. The seller failed to show for the exchange and no further contact has occurred. The case remains under investigation.
01/24/2021 Fugitive Warrant – Parole Absconder
Main & 6 Mile Rd – After receiving information on a reckless driver; an Officer observed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, the Officer discovered the driver was wanted on an outstanding warrant. In addition, the vehicle was not registered and was not insured. The vehicle was impounded and the subject information forwarded to the jurisdiction holding the warrant.
01/24/2021 *Hit & Run
300 Block of E. North Territorial – A complainant reported that she had parked her vehicle at the location at 11:00 am and when she returned to her vehicle at 6:30 pm, the complainant discovered damage to the vehicle. The case remains under investigation.
01/28/2021 *Hit & Run
Jade Lane – A complainant reported that after parking their car, an unknown red vehicle struck the complainants parked vehicle leaving paint transfer scratches. The incident occurred between 01/13/21 7:30 pm and 01/14/21 5:30 am. If anyone has information regarding this incident they are asked to contact the Northfield Twp Police.
