Deputies are investigating a major injury, vehicle vs. pedestrian collision on Deep Creek Rd. near Monte Vista Rd.

INCIDENT: Major Injury Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Deep Creek Road and Monte Vista Road, in the Town Apple Valley
DRIVER: 69-year-old female, Apple Valley resident, driving a 2016 Honda Civic
PEDESTRIAN: 29-year-old female, Apple Valley resident
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, February 9, 2021, deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department responded to a traffic collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian on Deep Creek Road near Monte Vista Road in the Town of Apple Valley.
Through preliminary investigation, it was learned, the pedestrian was walking from the east to the west side of Deep Creek Road. While in the roadway, the pedestrian was struck by the Honda Civic traveling northbound on Deep Creek Road. The pedestrian suffered major injuries as a result of the collision and was transported by ground ambulance to a trauma center for treatment. The driver of the Honda Civic was not injured and remained at the scene for the investigation.
