Burr Ridge is under a Winter Storm Warning until Tuesday morning with 7 to 9 inches of heavy snow and gusty winds expected.  Snowfall is forecast to intensify this afternoon and overnight, while blowing and drifting snow will cover plowed roadways.  The National Weather Service cautions that if travel is necessary, to wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves, since travel will become difficult and frostbite can occur quickly in these conditions.
 
Please refrain from parking on streets so that plow trucks can operate efficiently.  Also, with these snowfall amounts, kindly assist your Burr Ridge neighbors by 1) clearing the plowed snow from their driveways, 2) shoveling around mailboxes and fire hydrants, and 3) avoid pushing your snow onto streets.  The entire fleet of Public Works trucks will work to maintain passable roadways throughout this event.  Neighborhood streets will likely remain snow covered until Tuesday afternoon as a result of blowing and drifting snow with extremely cold temperatures. 
 
Village Hall will close at 2pm on Monday, but all emergency services will remain in operation.  If you need medical assistance or have an emergency, call 9-1-1.  To report a damaged mailbox, call 630-654-8181 and your call will be returned on Tuesday.    Please monitor NOAA Weather Radio or local news channels for timely information from the National Weather Service.
