Ohio Northern University takes seriously the safety and well-being of our campus community.
With the predicted snowfall for tonight, the University is suspending all evening in-person classes and student activities on Monday, Feb. 15, starting at 5 p.m. Monday evening online classes and virtual student activity meetings will meet as scheduled. Students who had Monday evening in-person classes should check their email to see if their class meeting has moved online. Those students with a Monday evening biology exam should check their email for further details regarding the exam.
Ohio Northern will reopen on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 9:30 a.m. Essential ONU employees should report as scheduled by their supervisor, with all other first-shift employees reporting to work at 9:30 a.m. Faculty meetings that are scheduled to occur virtually on Tuesday prior to 9:30 a.m. will occur as scheduled.
All students (law, pharmacy and undergraduate) should not attend any courses until 9:30 am. on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
If your Tuesday class ends prior to 9:30 a.m, your class is canceled.
If your Tuesday class starts prior to 9:30 a.m. but is still in session at 9:30 a.m., please report to your classroom at 9:30 a.m. Students with a lab meeting that begins prior to 9:30 a.m. should check their email for further information from their instructor.
Students should attend regularly scheduled Tuesday courses that start at 9:30 a.m. or later.
Dining services will remain open for its typical hours this evening and for breakfast on Tuesday. The Taggart Law library will close at 8 p.m. and the Heterick Memorial Library will close at 9 p.m. King-Horn will be closing at 11 p.m. The libraries and King-Horn will reopen on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. (Varsity athletic practices for Monday evening and Tuesday morning will still meet per the coach’s instruction.)
The University is closely monitoring the weather conditions and will determine if an additional delay or closing will be necessary. If such a decision is warranted, an announcement will be sent via email and the ONU Nixle alert system and be posted on onu.edu and my.onu.edu
