Evergy has notified the City of Grandview about the possibility of rolling blackouts due to the extreme cold straining the power supply. Power outages could be necessary over the next few days and would last 30-60 minutes for each block of customers before power is restored. Evergy customers will not be notified if they part of a rolling blackout. www.evergy.com

To minimize the possibility of power outages, Evergy asks every customer to conserve energy as much as possible. Helpful tips include: making meals in microwaves or toaster ovens, changing your furnace filter, avoid doing laundry or washing dishes, close heat registers or doors in spare rooms.
