Two Men Arrested for Identity Theft and Narcotics
Officers responded to TD Bank Sunday afternoon, February 14, for a report of suspicious activity. A male was attempting to obtain an ATM card using fictitious identification.
William F. Newhart, 42, of Bergenfield, NJ and Jesse W. Rawding, 28, of Wilmington, DE were found in possession of instruments used to facilitate the crime of identity theft. Additionally, officers located a substantial amount of narcotics. Detectives are working to notify potential identity theft victims in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The Absecon Police Department is coordinating with other agencies to investigate additional offenses of fraud/forgery.

CHARGES: Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Mushrooms, Possession of GHB, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Make Lawful Disposition, CDS Distribution, Credit Card Theft, Possession of a Scanning Device, Identity Theft, Possession of False Government Documents, Possession of Document Making Material, Conspiracy, Uttering, and Receiving Stolen Property.
ARRESTED: Jesse W. Rawding, 28, Wilmington, DE
CHARGES: Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Mushrooms, Possession of GHB, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Prescription Legend Drugs (2 counts), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Make Lawful Disposition, Conspiracy, and CDS Distribution.
Both Newhart and Rawding’s charges were approved on a warrant; they were lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
