SNOW REMOVAL UPDATES: VILLAGE OF BURR RIDGE February 16, 2021

DUE TO THE RECENT EXCESSIVE SNOWFALL AND EXTREME COLD TEMPERATURES, PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING REGARDING SNOW REMOVAL ISSUES THROUGHOUT THE VILLAGE:

Snow near mailboxes:  Due to the large amount of snow received over the past two months that has not melted away, the plowing and snow placement on neighborhood streets, especially in cul-de-sacs, is becoming more challenging. Residents should expect some amount of snow piled behind and around mailboxes that may require them to shovel around the mailbox to resume mail delivery. Staff will take care to ensure that snow is placed in a safe place besides the mailbox if other options are present, but snow near mailboxes will likely be unavoidable due to the volume of snow on the ground.

Snow in driveways:  The Village cannot avoid plowing of snow into driveways. You can ensure that the amount of snow in your driveway is minimized by removing snow from the street near the curbline in the direction of traffic flow.

Snow piled on corners obstructing views: Email locations to the Village at: [email protected] or call in the location (630) 654-8181.  This is a hazard that we will handle promptly.

Streets will remain somewhat snow covered and slippery due to the blowing snow and extremely cold temperatures making road salt less effective. Residents should expect to observe a modicum of snow cover on streets until the weekend when warmer temperatures return.

Thank you for your patience as staff continues to address all snow removal issues as quickly as possible.
