INCIDENT: Murder/Attempt Murder Investigation
LOCATION: Parking Lot in the 12000 block of Mariposa Road, Hesperia
VICTIMS:Steven Davis, 44 years old, resident of Apple Valley (deceased)
Adult female, 29 years old, resident of Victorville
Adult male, 38 years old, resident of Temecula
SUSPECT(S): Eddie Craig Parks, 39 years old, resident of Apple Valley
SUMMARY:
On Saturday, February 13, 2021, at 2:02 am, deputies responded to the parking lot of the 12000 block of Mariposa Road following the report of a shooting at the location. Deputies arrived and found a one female and two males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to local area hospitals. The victim, Steven Davis, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The two additional victims remain in the hospital but are expected to recover from their injuries. The suspect fled the location prior to deputies’ arrival.
Homicide detectives responded to conduct the investigation. Detectives learned several people were congregating in the parking lot when the shooting occurred. Through investigation, the suspect was identified to be Eddie Parks. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Parks for the murder of Steven Davis.
Deputies from the Specialized Enforcement Division (SED) were requested to assist in the investigation. On February 15, 2021, at approximately 1:05 pm, Parks was located and taken into custody without incident. He is currently in-custody at the West Valley Detention Center for Murder and is scheduled for court on February 17th.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
