The roads are worse this morning than they have been all week. Please stay safe at home. Please, do not call GPD about water issues.

The roads are worse this morning than we have seen all week. Please, refrain from being on the roadways. LADOTD closed portions of I-20. I've not seen that in my 21 years in Greenwood. There are wrecks, motorist assistance calls where vehicles cannot gain traction on the ICE, are running off in ditches, jack knifed 18 wheelers, etc. The officers and dispatcher are extremely busy handling these types of calls. It is at the point to where tow trucks are not available because their drivers have been working for three straight days without rest.

GPD does not have any more information about the water outage than the Town of Greenwood is putting out on their Facebook page. Please, check the Town of Greenwood Facebook page for water updates.

Thank you. Many of the officers are coming to work while their water is out at home or their own water lines are busted. We are in this with you and understand the frustration with the water, but cannot offer any information or speed up the water process. We would if we could!
