On Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021 around 8:40 a.m. this morning, a male subject wearing a black hat, black hoodie, blue jeans, and black shoes was recorded walking west on Meadowlark Dr. from Clay Bank Rd. while forcefully escorting a female juvenile. A neighbors Camera captures the incident as the juvenile is assisted by what appears to be a passerby. In the video the female juvenile is heard crying while the male had control of her left backpack strap and right wrist.
In the video the male is confronted by a female adult who arrived in a van and threatened to assault the male if he did not leave the juvenile alone. She then asks the female juvenile if she would like to go with her. The juvenile can be seen hiding behind the female passerby and promptly gets into the van.
The male subject then tried to open the vehicle doors in attempt to get the female juvenile back. The van was last seen driving away west on Meadowlark Dr. The male subject is seen walking in the same direction.
At this time the Fairfield Police Department hasn’t received additional calls or reports of a domestic dispute, attempted abduction or assault matching these details.

Be S.M.A.R.T. have a plan - Crime Prevention safety tips:
• Safety
• Means
• Always
• Recognizing
• Trouble
1. Safety is always best in numbers. Advise your child to walk to and from there destination with a buddy.
2. If your child feels that he or she is being followed and they have a cell phone, they should immediately call 9-1-1.
3. Never talk to a stranger. Strangers with bad intentions try to trick kids into helping them. Kids should never talk or answer their questions. If they do answer, it should be something along the lines of “go ask an adult” or “I do not know I am only a kid.”
4. Teach your child to think on their feet. They need to keep distance from strangers and not let someone get close enough that they could grab or touch them.
5. Advise them to run or walk quickly towards an area where they see people (a shopping center, a home with someone outside, a busy roadway, or a park where they see people.) They should never walk into an alley or location that further isolates them.
6. Know your child’s walking/riding path to and from school. Determine a path together that is visible, even if it’s a slightly longer route home.
7. Go directly to your destination. Pay attention to where you are going. Talking or texting on your cell phone is a good way to pass the time while you're walking, but it can distract you from noticing what's going on around you.
8. Be aware of surroundings - who is behind you and in front of you. Are there occupied cars parked along your route?
9. If someone approaches you or tries to get your attention, get away immediately. Cross the street or walk the other way.
