Deputies responded to the intersection of Archibald Ave/9th St., following the report of street racers in the area

LOCATION: Archibald Avenue / 9th Street
SUSPECTS: Juan Jose Ayala, 21-years-old from Bloomington
Danny Joseph Perera, 19-years-old from Fontana
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at approximately 8:40 p.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to the intersection of Archibald Ave. and 9th St. for a report of a congregation of street racers. Deputy Villalobos initiated a traffic stop on a Cadillac CTS for illegal exhaust.
Upon contact, Villalobos detected the smell of marijuana in the vehicle. The suspects, later identified as Juan Ayala and Danny Perera were detained. Villalobos located a loaded 9mm handgun and brass knuckles. Through investigation, it was found the handgun was stolen out of Nevada.
Ayala and Perera were arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center.
