4 Arrested at City of Commerce DUI Checkpoint
City of Commerce, Calif. – One driver was arrested for DUI while conducting a DUI Checkpoint on Friday, February 19, 2021.
The checkpoint was held at Telegraph Rd., and Carrier Ave., from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
12 drivers were cited/arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, 7 vehicles were towed. One driver was additionally charged with an outstanding narcotics warrant and one driver was arrested for an out of county weapons warrant.
Checkpoint locations are based on a history of crashes and DUI arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired.
As the state continues to work to stop the spread of COVID-19, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is committed to keeping the public safe when they are traveling.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will continue hold DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoints throughout the year.
