Highway 80 and I-20 are solid sheets of ice. The sun is shining, but the roads are not thawed, yet. DANGEROUS is the road conditions! 
GPD advises you to AVOID all roadways$ due to a traffic hazards.
The roadways that have turned to solid sheets of ice are still present, even though the sun is shining in Greenwood and has caused significant traffic backups and other issues.
Shirley Francis Road was in the best condition of any Greenwood Road, last night.
Please, do not call the police department asking if the condition of the roads. We will tell you that all roads are in bad condition and suggest you stay where you are.
We truly wished and hoped that this would have passed by now, but it hasn't. The officers are working to clear the roads of motorists that THINK they have to be on the roads. Several citations have been issued due to reckless driving in these unfavorable conditions. Hopefully, this will end soon so we can get back to normal and all the deputies, national guardsmen, troopers, deputies, tow truck drivers, highway department employees and many more can get some much needed rest.
