Murder Suspect Apprehended By Team Work Of Clayton County Police And Sheriff’s Office SHERIFF VICTOR HILL
Ask Clayton County Police Chief Kevin Roberts or Sheriff Victor Hill why Clayton County has the lowest crime rate in the metro area and you will receive the same answer from both of the top cops. Both will brag on the collaborative team work between both of their agencies that is unparalleled in any of the other jurisdictions in Georgia. Gone are the days where the two agencies squabbled over who has jurisdiction or what one or the other should be doing. With the old guard now gone, both law-enforcement leaders decided that working together would make Clayton County law-enforcement a force to be be reckoned with. The crime statistics has proved them both right!
Now the Chief and Sheriff along with their command staff meet weekly, and the front line troops respond to calls together on a daily basis forging a now unbreakable bond. Early this morning was another successful example of how well the collaboration between the agencies work well for the saftey and security of Clayton County.
At approximately 02:40am, Clayton County Police and the Sheriff’s Office responded to a person shot call on Dundee Ct in Jonesboro. Upon arrival, Deputies and Officers found a male victim deceased from gunshot wounds. Witnesses told law enforcement that the shooting resulted over an argument over gambling and identified the shooter as Kevin Green who had already fled the scene. Deputies went to Green’s house that was less than a mile away on Patton Rd to see if he was there while Clayton County Police maintained the crime-scene for their Homicide Detectives to arrive. As Deputies arrived, Green was just pulling out of his driveway attempting to leave. Sheriff’s Deputies pull Green over at gun point and he surrendered without incident.
Green is now facing the wall at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail better known as “The Hill-ton”.
