On February 23, 2021 (Tuesday) at approximately 1:55 PM, personnel from Palmdale Sheriff’s Station responded to a motor vehicle collision on 20^th Street East at the intersection with Papagayo Way (which is within the incorporated area of the City of Palmdale).
 
The preliminary facts of this investigation indicate a male 28 years old was driving a 2017 Yamaha Raptor off road quad. The Yamaha was driving south in the #2 lane of 20^th Street East, lost control and collided into a block wall at the intersection with Papagayo Way.

As a result of the collision, the 28 year old male was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. All parties have been accounted for. Anyone with information regarding the collision is encouraged to call Palmdale Station’s Traffic Department at 661-272-2400. The investigation is ongoing.
 
20^th Street East was closed to routine traffic between Avenue R-4 and Avenue R-8 until approximately 5:00 PM while this incident was being investigated.
