The Engineered Plans for the City’s new Lakefront Park are almost complete and we are preparing to advertise the project for construction. Preparation work still continues on the project site. City staff recently met with a professional arborist to assess the condition of the lakefront trees. The arborist determined which trees are healthy and will remain and which trees are unhealthy or a potential public safety hazard. The unhealthy and/or potentially hazardous trees will be removed. The new Lakefront Park has a very robust tree program and will feature more than 40 new trees! 

Staff is also working on a project information sign to post on site that will include the major amenities and layout of the new park. Some of the park amenities are a Skate Park, a basketball court and a recreational Splash Pad. We will provide additional updates as the project moves forward.
