**ARREST MADE**

Throughout February 2021, Detectives from the Walnut Sheriff Station began to work closely with investigators from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s (LASD), Major Crimes Bureau (MCB), Burglary-Robbery Task Force (BRTF), on a series of recent, Rowland Heights neighborhood robberies where suspects would follow the female Asian victims until the victims stopped and exited their vehicles. The suspects approached victims and violently pulled their purses away. The victims were knocked to the ground during these crimes. One of the robberies occurred inside the garage of a victim’s residence, where a victim’s family member was also accosted.

Investigators were able to identify a vehicle possibly used during these crimes as well as a possible suspect. On Thursday, February 25th, 2021, Investigators observed the suspect driving slowly through multiple business and retail areas in Rowland Heights. This behavior was consistent with the methods of the previous robberies in the area, in order to acquire a victim to follow. Deputies contacted the suspects in a parking lot of a grocery store. The driver was determined to be on active felony parole for a recent Burglary conviction and was ultimately arrested for multiple felony violations. The passenger was determined to be a 17 year old juvenile on active probation for robbery and possessed a concealed, stolen, loaded .40 Caliber semi-auto pistol. He was detained on multiple felony violations.

Alejandro Vallecillo, MH 22, of Stanton, was booked on three counts of Robbery, Identity Theft, Violation of Parole, Felon in Possession of Firearm inside his vehicle, Attempted Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. Vallecillo has a significant criminal history including arrests for Robbery, Burglary, Parole Violation, and Auto Theft. He is a four time convicted felon and a documented criminal street gang member. He is currently held in custody on $1.3 million dollars bail.

One male juvenile subject was detained and is from the city of Rialto. He was detained for being a Minor in Possession of a Stolen Firearm. He was on active probation for Robbery. He was transported to a juvenile detention facility pending the outcome of the investigation.

The criminal case filing for this crime series is being handled by detectives from the Walnut Sheriff Station.

The investigation and arrest of these suspects is an example of the ongoing cooperation and collaboration between the Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau and local L.A. County Sheriff Station’s Detective Bureaus. The LASD Major Crimes BRTF works closely and consistently with many Southern California law enforcement agencies in its mission to identify, investigate, and arrest organized burglary and robbery suspects.

If you see something say something. Immediately dial 911 if you see a crime in progress. Avoid contact with the offenders and be a good witness.
