Test tornado sirens

Tuesday March 2, 2021 at 10am, Marion County, including Centralia, will be testing the tornado sirens as a part of Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Illinois.
March 1st is the start of meteorological spring and the start of Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Illinois. Severe Weather Preparedness Week was created by the National Weather Service to prepare Illinoisans on the approach of severe weather season. The National Weather Service in Lincoln is stressing that tornadoes are a big concern; however, don't forget other severe weather threats like flooding, hail, lightning, and damaging winds. Here are a few topics we will discuss below: tornado safety, severe thunderstorm safety, flood safety, and lightning safety.
