RED FLAG WARNING - CRITICAL Fire Danger for Jackson and Laffayette counties until 6:00 pm, March 7, 2021.
The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for all of eastern Kansas and western/northwestern Missouri, extending eastward into central and north central Missouri. This warning will be in effect starting at noon, lasting until 6 pm Sunday evening.
Very dry surface conditions and gusty winds approaching 35 mph will combine with very dry vegetation to bring conditions favorable for rapid wildfire spread.
Outdoor burning or any activity that could potentially spark a fire is strongly discouraged today.
