Job Title: Per Diem Animal Control Officer (ACO)
ACO duties include, but are not limited to:
A. Capture and remove stray, uncontrolled, or abused animals from undesirable conditions.
B. Contact animal owners to inform them that their pests are at animal holding facilities.
C. Educate the public about animal welfare and animal control laws and regulations.
D. Issue warnings or citations with animal-related offenses.
E. Examine animals for injuries or malnutrition and arrange for any necessary medical treatment.
F. Investigate reports of animal attacks or animal cruelty
G. Remove captured animals from animal-control service vehicles and place animals in shelter cages or other enclosures.
Job Qualifications:
A. Must possess a valid New Jersey Animal Control Officer Certification.
B. Possess a valid NJ Driver's License
C. Successfully undergo a background check, drug testing and medical exam
