Advisory

Downtown Traffic Enforcement

The Morgan Hill Police Department will be increasing traffic enforcement efforts downtown to reduce traffic related complaints. Population growth and increased commuter traffic downtown have contributed to a steady increase of traffic related violations. Effective immediately, the MHPD traffic team and members of the patrol division will be conducting proactive traffic enforcement during peak commute hours. The mission of the officers is to reduce noise complaints, increase driver awareness and pedestrian safety.

Enforcement efforts will be conducted throughout the downtown corridor during the afternoon and evening commute hours. The Morgan Hill Police Department would like to remind everyone to reduce their speed, watch for pedestrians and bicyclists, be mindful of loud stereos and modified exhausts and always wear their safety belts while driving in town. With everyone’s help, we can make a safer downtown for everyone to enjoy!

Anyone that may have questions related to this program is encouraged to contact Corporal Chris Gridley at (669) 253-4972 or the anonymous tip line 408.947-STOP (7867).
