On March 11, 2021 at approximately 06:20 hours the Angels Camp Police Department received a report of a reckless driver driving southbound on South Main Street in a red Subaru. It was reported that the driver was crossing over double yellows and narrowly missed hitting a pedestrian.
An Angels Camp Police Department Officer located the vehicle in a parking lot located in the 2800 block of Hwy 49 in Angels Camp.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as, 38 year-old Douglas Flat resident, James St Louis.
During the course of the investigation, St. Louis was found to be in possession of approximately one pound of methamphetamine, $1700 in cash, and two firearms.
St Louis was arrested and booked in the Calaveras County Jail for the following charges:
11377(a) HS – Possession of a Controlled Substance
11378 HS – Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sales
11379(a) HS – Transportation of a Controlled Substance
11370.1(a) HS – Possession of a Firearm While Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance
29800(a)(1) PC – Felon in Possession of a Firearm
25400(a)(1) PC – Vehicle Driver Carrying a Concealed Firearm
