...Accumulating Snow and Sleet Likely on Monday...

Wet snow, mixed at times with sleet, is expected to develop
northeastward across the area Monday morning. The wintry mix may
then begin to mix with rain in the afternoon before tapering off
to drizzle by early evening. Snow and sleet accumulations of an
inch or two are likely for most areas, especially on grassy and
elevated surfaces. However, some isolated higher amounts up to 3
or 4 inches are also possible, especially across parts of far
northwestern and north central IL. While warm pavement
temperatures are likely to limit snow accumulation on many
roadways, some slushy accumulations will be possible, especially
on bridges and overpasses. Persons planing travel across the area
on Monday should be prepared for the possibly for some slick
travel conditions.
