Police stop reckless driver who was observed crossing into oncoming traffic and striking cubs leaving downtown Green Bay.

Green Bay Police assisted by Brown County Sheriff's Deputies stop a reckless driver leaving downtown Green Bay at bar time. The vehicle operated by a 21 year old male was driving into oncoming traffic when it was observed by a patrol officer responding to another incident. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle with emergency lights and sirens but it continued across the Mason Street Bridge and onto Ashland Avenue at approximately 35 miles per hour. Officers deployed "Stop Sticks successfully but the vehicle continued towards the Village of Ashwaubenon on four flat tires. The officers attempted to slow the vehicle by several trained technique but the vehicle pushed through sticking a squad car. the vehicle was pursued at speeds ranging between 25 - 35 mph for a total of 4.7 miles until it was stopped near the intersection of West Mason Street/ Gross Ave with a "P.I.T." maneuver. The operator's actions were deemed reckless and a threat to the community. The cooperative actions of GBPD and BCSO prevented the high probability of injuries and/ or extensive damage by this reckless driver who chose to flee from police. The operator has been arrested and is currently being investigated for operating while intoxicated, possession of controlled substances, fleeing and multiple other traffic infractions.
