The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Southern Alamance County in central North Carolina... Orange County in central North Carolina...

* Until 715 PM EDT.

* At 609 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 11 miles south of Graham, moving northeast at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, Carrboro, Swepsonville, Efland, Snow Camp, Eno River State Park, Sutphin, Cane Creek Reservoir and Saxapahaw.

* AFFECTED AREAS: ALAMANCE, NC ... ORANGE, NC

Instructions:

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for central North Carolina. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in Raleigh.
