Victorville Station MAIT team is investigating a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian collision on Green Tree Blvd.

INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Green Tree Boulevard / Second Avenue
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, March 18, 2021, at approximately 6:19 PM, deputies from the Victorville Station, and rescue personnel form the Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response, responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision near the intersection of Green Tree Boulevard and Second Avenue in the city of Victorville. Upon arrival, deputies determined the vehicle was traveling east on Green Tree Boulevard approaching Second Avenue. Witnesses stated the pedestrian was attempting to cross Green Tree Boulevard when he ran in front of the vehicle and was struck. The driver and passenger of the vehicle involved stayed on scene, checked on the victim and dialed 9-1-1. The victim was transported by rescue personnel to a local hospital, and despite life-saving measures was pronounced deceased. All involved parties stayed at the scene and were cooperative with the investigation.
Green Tree Boulevard from Third Avenue and First Avenue were closed for a couple of hours while deputies from the Victorville Station Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) conducted the investigation.
