SUMMARY:
In response to concerns from citizens, property owners and business owners, deputies from Highland and Yucaipa Station conducted an enhanced pro-active enforcement operation in the city of Highland. Deputies saturated the city making numerous contacts with subjects for criminal violations. In all, 13 subjects were arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center and West Valley Detention Center for a variety of offenses including outstanding warrants, possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia, weapon violations and driving with suspended licenses. In addition, 2 subjects were issued citations for traffic violations.
During extra patrol in the area of Hillview Street, deputies contacted a vehicle parked in the red zone. During the contact, deputies located two loaded handguns with no serial numbers inside the vehicle. Driver, Robert Denson, 41, and passenger Deveryan Churchill, 29, were arrested for being felons in possession of a loaded firearm.
