ELEVATED FIRE DANGER THIS AFTERNOON - DO NOT BURN
352 AM CDT Sun Mar 21 2021 /452 AM EDT Sun Mar 21 2021/
...Elevated Brushfire Danger This Afternoon...
The combination of low relative humidity, breezy south to
southwest winds, mild temperatures, and dried-out grasses and
shrubs will lead to an elevated threat for brushfires this afternoon.
While all areas will have a brush fire danger today,
the highest threat will be northwest of a line from Mendota to
Waukegan where winds will be strongest.
Burning that is not closely monitored or conducted by
professionals, as well as any sparks from off-road vehicles or farming equipment, will easily turn into brushfires today. Unless
you are a professional, avoid any outdoor burning. Be aware of any burning restrictions in your area, and report any fires to
local fire departments.
