Fatal Traffic crash 
Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 03/21/2021 at approximately 02:08 hours his office was called to investigate a crash involving a single motor vehicle. The crash occurred on US-12 east of Anderson Rd in Milton Twp., Cass County Michigan.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Casey Butler, 34 year old, Elkhart Indiana resident. Through the investigation it was determined that Butler lost control of her vehicle on US-12. The vehicle went off the roadway and overturning. Butler did succumb to her injuries that were sustained in the crash.
At this time, it is unknown if drugs and alcohol are a factor in this crash. Ms. Butler was not wearing a seat belt.
Assisting agencies on scene were Edwardsburg Fire Department, Southwest Michigan Community Ambulance Service, Edwardsburg / Ontwa Township Police department and Michigan State Police.
This case still remains under investigation.
