City Leaders Join Together to Denounce Anti-Asian Hate Crimes and Racism
The COVID-19 pandemic has intensified crimes against the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. This week, City leaders from Rosemead, Alhambra, San Gabriel, and Monterey Park, in conjunction with members of the Alhambra Teachers Association, will gather in solidarity to denounce hate crimes, hate rhetoric, and hate violence and affirm their commitments to the wellbeing and safety of all community members.
They will participate in the “Rally and March Against Anti-Asian Hate Crimes and Racism” this Friday, March 26, 2021. Officials will gather at 4:00 p.m. at San Gabriel City Hall, located at 425 S. Mission Drive, and march 1.7 miles to Alhambra City Hall, located at 111 S. 1st Street. The event will conclude with a couple of speakers as well as poets. This is a peaceful event organized to bring communities together.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health Order http://publichealth.lacounty.gov/media/Coronavirus/docs/HOO/HOO_SaferatHomeCommunity.pdf is still in place and we encourage everyone to wear a face covering and keep a safe distance from those outside of your household.
