Flood Warning until 05:45AM Friday

At 109 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated mostly patchy light rain across the warned area at this hour but another band of showers is expected to move through in the next couple hours. Runoff will likely continue for at least the next few hours. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain has fallen since 11 PM EDT. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Andrews, Murphy, Benton, Ducktown, Hayesville, Hiawasse Dam, Violet, Unaka, Hot House, Culberson, Turtletown, William L. Davenport Refuge, Copperhill, Marble, Brasstown, Archville, Big Frog Mountain, Hiwassee Ocoee State Park, Reliance and Tusquitee. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area over the next two hours.

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
