INCIDENT: Attempted Strong Arm Robbery
LOCATION: 18700 block of Valley Boulevard, Bloomington
SUSPECT(S): Jesse Martinez, 25-year-old resident of Bloomington
SUMMARY: On Thursday, March 25, 2021, at approximately 9:44 a.m., deputies responded to the 18700 block of Valley Boulevard in the city of Bloomington for an assault that had taken place at the AM/PM Store. Deputies spoke with staff and learned a Hispanic man had assaulted the clerk after he stopped the man from taking their merchandise. The clerk sustained minor injuries and advised deputies the man had frequented the store before.
Deputies and detectives conducted a thorough investigation and spoke to business owners and residents in the neighborhood. After a thorough search, Jesse Martinez was located and taken into custody without incident. He was booked at the Central Detention Center.
