The 2021 school year has recently commenced at most Camarillo campuses, and almost all schools now have students personally attending on a daily basis. The Camarillo Police Department would like to remind motorists to be extra cautious as they travel near schools. As children and parents make their way to and from school, there will be an increase in both vehicle and pedestrian traffic. The City of Camarillo employs crossing guards to facilitate the safe passage of students and parents at multiple intersections throughout the City. These dedicated individuals’ first priority is the safe passage of the children. Make this your precedence too. Follow all traffic laws and always wait for the crossing guard to return to the sidewalk before you proceed. To ensure children and crossing guards are able to maintain a safe surrounding, the Camarillo Police Department has the following important reminders and guidelines for motorists and students: Motorists:
