This evening at 6:23 pm the Fairfield Fire Department responded to a two alarm residential structure fire in the 2000 block of Starling Way. Enroute firefighters were advise an adult male was trapped. Arriving firefighters found a well involved fire and immediately went into rescue mode. A male adult victim was located, unfortunately the victim's injuries were fatal. Another male adult suffered smoke inhalation and was transported via Medic Ambulance to a local hospital. Three adults were displaced by the fire, the Red Cross is assisting the family with temporary shelter. This fire appears accidental but is still under investigation. The fire caused approximately $275,000 damage to the structure and $25,000 loss to contents. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
